Summer PorchFest Danville: An Arts & Music Odyssey

Get ready for the first-ever Summer PorchFest in Danville–a free community event turning downtown Danville and nearby neighborhoods into a live music destination, hosted by the Danville Rotary Club! On Saturday, Aug. 9 between noon and 5 p.m., you’re invited to wander the square and surrounding streets, where front porches, storefronts, and alleyways will transform into intimate stages showcasing talented local musicians.

Whether you’re drawn to blues, country, rock, gospel, and more, PorchFest offers something for every music lover. Grab your friends, bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket, and spend the day soaking in the sounds and small-town charm as you stroll from porch to porch.

While you’re downtown, don’t miss the Plein Air “Paint the Town” event happening at the same time! Watch artists in action as they capture the beauty of Danville in real time, all set to the soundtrack of PorchFest performances in the background.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Danville’s Summer PorchFest?
It’s a FREE block party where homeowners and local businesses open up their front porches, patios, driveways and lawns to serve as stages for local bands. Music fans walk from performance to performance enjoying concerts. BONUS: It’s family and pet friendly!

Will there be food, drink and adult beverages?
The many wonderful downtown restaurants and bars will be open! Rotary will also be selling hotdogs, soda and water at their cart on North Washington Street.
Note: Alcoholic beverages should be enjoyed on the premises where they are purchased.

It’s all FREE?!?
The entertainment is being provided at no charge to you by our generous sponsors (see below). Food and drink will be available for purchase at local restaurants and the Rotary Dogs booth. A bit of cash is optional to tip performers! They may also bring some merch for you to buy.

What type of performers will be there?
You’ll find live musicians performing country, rock, blues, gospel, bluegrass and more. There will also be karaoke and performances by the Next Generation of musicians to entertain you.

What if it rains?
Hendricks County’s weather is predictably unpredictable and the forecast changes frequently. Unless it’s a total rainy/stormy day the show will go on! A small umbrella or rain jacket should be fine. Please check here or Facebook for any cancelation.

What about parking?
View our Downtown Parking Map. Note: Marion & Washington streets around the courthouse will be closed for this event; however, Jefferson St. will be open for parking. All other parking locations identified on the map are available.

How long will each music performance last?
Each show will be about 45 minutes long.

How will I know when and where each band will be performing?
We are finalizing everything now. You will soon find a map with list of each musician’s location and performance time. There will also be a printed map and schedule and some goodies for you at a Rotary tent on the square the day of the event.

What should I bring?
While nothing’s required, for your comfort, you may wish to bring a light-weight “bag chair” or blanket, comfortable shoes, & water…travel light.

Will there be bathrooms?
Portable restrooms will be located on the square and on N. Washington St. at a porch host venue. Merchants on the square have bathrooms available for patrons so you can go when you pick up food or drink!

A HUGE Thank You to our sponsors for supporting the first of what is sure to be a Danville annual favorite:
